Baby, You're a Firework

The 4th of July conjures up childhood memories of BBQ's, sparklers, spectacular fireworks shows, and baking flag cakes topped with raspberries and blueberries. Independence Day is my favorite holiday not only because it's the best time of year and means running around in shorts and a bathing suit near a pool or shoreline, but also because I still find fireworks magically romantic. Donning red, white, and blue is a must for me, as are festive decorations to set the mood.

If you're hosting a party, go simple with a 1-pot meal. A clambake is the perfect crowd-pleaser and can feed an army without much effort. Finish it off with the aforementioned flag cake, some bubbly, and toast to your country...cheers!

Pool Party!

'Tis the season for pool parties which means it's time to heat up that pool and dust off your patio furniture. If it's looking a bit shabby, it may be time to invest in some new pieces, so I've rounded up my favorite outdoor furniture and accessories, along with what to wear for your next pool party to stay chic and cool in the hot sun. Fire up the barbie, mix up a signature cocktail, and turn up the tunes. I'm also a strong believer that every party should have a piΓ±ata...

The Menu:

Watermelon Cucumber Cooler

Grilled Pineapple

Herb-Tossed Corn

Grilled Kale Salad with Ricotta and Plums

Whole Butterflied Chicken

Watermelon Margarita Ice Pops
