VALLEY OF THE DOLLS

In the words of Damien Hirst, "pills are a brilliant little form, better than any minimalist art.  They're all designed to make you buy them... they come out of flowers, plants, things from the ground, and they make you feel good, you know, to just have a pill, to feel beauty."  Hirst's upcoming exhibition in London titled "Schizophrenogenesis" is a nod to our overprescribed modern life, composed of silk-screen prints and oversized resin pill sculptures. There's something fascinating about pills however you feel about them.  I've been seriously coveting Ray Geary's OTC Pill Studies with its rainbow of actual pills suspended in crystal-clear cast resin since I laid eyes on it at FOG Design+Art last year.  Inspired by Hirst and Valley of the Dolls, here's a round up of pharmaceutically inspired objects for your home.
